Art in the Temples of Ninh Binh

A long drive out of Hanoi.

A ride in a little row boat.

Stopping and seeing temples hidden away in the wilderness. Temples that could have been reached by the builders only through very difficult pathways. Through caves and tunnels.

My mind is boggled at the idea of transporting all the raw materials to each of those spots even if we were to have the transportation of 2023. But back then, a few centuries ago it would have been a task for the gods… it seems humanly impossible to accomplish all the fantastic architectural projects out there.

Some materials were local but not all. And there lies the question of ‘How’.

A few photos:

More notes to follow soon.
