Donation Idea

 A brand new thought occurred to me: 

Some of us are definitely more productive than others. Some are changing the world while I am sipping green tea. 

My 60 years and Elon’s 60 years or Jensen’s 60 years are NOT the same. 

Yet all of us have been given a maximum span of 80-90 years in which to do everything our brain and spirit can possibly do. 

I, totally unequal to them – can only share the financial load of these giants by buying a share or two in their company. But what if I  could contribute to their great lives in a novel way? 

Long ago I had heard of someone say “she donated her punya (good karma) to her mother-in-law”. I was struck by the idea and forgot to ask how the mechanics of that donation works. But it must be a concept that elderly Hindus are familiar with. 

So along the same lines, it occurred to me today – what if I could donate the rest of my years to someone who is certain to make more / better use of them? 

Just as we donate money, we could donate years… to whomever we wish. Maybe even have “year banks” that operate like blood banks. 

Amazing right?

Am patting myself on the back for the brilliance of this idea, while deliberately ignoring the reality that it is a frivolous in-actionable flight of the imagination. 

But we have to start somewhere – and a novel idea is usually the place to begin. 

Maybe the future Elon or one of equivalent action-driven genius might make it possible … and that brings us back to the “why” of this idea! 

Congratulations to me. 😜 for coming up with one more bizarre * useless thought!
