5723 Handwoven Double Ikat Telia Rumaal Scarf Accessory – Recently Made

BEAUTIFUL figurative traditional Andhra Ikat Telia Rumal.

Has four motifs – Lion, Clock, an auspicious Indian symbol and flowers.

In Ikat weaving the higher the number of different motifs used, the more complex the weaving becomes.

Handwoven in soft fine cotton. This is WARP and WEFT ikat – popularly known as double Ikat. Beautiful simple selvedge.í«í_ Complex weaving process.í«í_

This motif is one of the signatures of the weaving region. Very few are produced commercially.

Square – 110cm x 105cm

Rare.

Made around the year 2000
