All the articles on this site have been written ‘Swantah Sukhayah’ – a word in Sanskrit for ‘self-fulfiment’. If they also please the reader then that is a real bonus!
Why do I take the trouble to share these stories? Because these experiences have opened my mind. Because I might forget the details someday. Because one part of my world does not know how fantastic the other part of my world is. And by sharing these stories, I am doing my bit to share the beauty of that vanishing world.

Hi Jaina,
I must say your blog is wonderful. I thoroughly loved it.
Keep exploring and sharing.
Piyush.
Dear Ms. Jaina,
Greeting from Odisha!
Thank you for spreading the light. Iam already in the mode of enlightment. Please do guide me how to seek clearence for using your photographs for academic purpouse only. For commercial use, I rather work with the artisan to give maximum benefits, & yes for you- a creation from the synthesis, so that you feel happy & bliss.
I would appreciate, if you could make a visit to Odisha ( formerly Orissa) as well. Though tribal areas are under scanner due to Vedanta & Dove Tour ( filimg of Bonda tribesmen in wrong way in Dove Tour website) fiasco.
I teach at NIFT, Bhubaneswar & belong to this region, here since 2009.
Lovely work.
Please keep inking the moments & moments ink.
Regards,
Siddartha
Thank you Siddhartha, I will connect with you soon when I plan my visit Kotpad district to Koraput. I have some weaver friends there and hope to visit in 2012.
Respect to article author , some great information .
Everyone loves it when people get together and share thoughts.
Great site, stick with it!
Hi Jaina,
My name is Simon and I work for your husband. At a recent meeting he shared with me your passion for both photography and cultures. Interestingly like you I have travelled a lot through this region but sadly not yet to Ladakh so I found your article most enlitening. Thanks for sharing it just inspires me to get there soon.
The pictures are wonderful.
Cheers
Simon
Thanks Simon!
Thank you Nananirauk for your correction.
Hi Jaina I’m living vicariously through you, I finally have found someone who shares the same passions as I. Please continue your work, your passions show through, and thank you for sharing! Anita Dallas, TX
Thank you Anita! Its great to know that the work is appreciated!
And Anita – I live vicariously through the lives of the tribals I meet…
Hi Jaina, Your Collection & treasure is wonderful & heart touching. Really I wonder seeing it. Keep it up. Sunil
Wonderful blog! I found it while browsing on Yahoo News.
Do you have any tips on how to get listed in Yahoo News? I’ve been trying for a while but I never seem to get there! Thanks
I comment whenever I like a article on a website or if I have something
valuable to contribute to the discussion. Usually it’s caused by the passion displayed in the post I read. And on this post WovenSouls. I was moved enough to drop a thought 🙂 If you are posting on additional places, I would like to keep up with everything fresh you have to post. Would you list every one of all your community sites like your linkedin profile, Facebook page or twitter feed?
I’m really enjoying the design and layout of your site. It’s
a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more pleasant for me to come here and visit
more often. Did you hire out a developer to create your theme?
Fantastic work!
Wow that was unusual. I just wrote an very long comment but after I clicked submit my comment didn’t appear. Grrrr… well I’m not writing all that over again.
Anyways, just wanted to say fantastic blog!
Dear Jaina, Darielle Mason, Head of the Department of Indian & Himalayan Art at the Philadelphia Museum, suggested I contact you. You may be interested in a 24 k gold antique zari from Khashmir with over 200 solid gold pomegranates sewn into the fabric. MY friend’s Aunt ( an international textile collector)gave it to her 40 years ago as a dowry gift. I am seeking to help my friend sell the zari. Ms. Mason informed me that in her position she is unable to offer an appraisal or recommend a buyer, but perhaps you might be willing to help. I will be happy to send photos and zari specifications to a more secure email if you would like more information. If anyone in the world can assist my friend, I believe it is you, Jaina! Kind Regards, L. Powers

write some content for your blog in exchange for a link back to mine.
Please shoot me an email if interested. Thank you!
I have to thank you for the efforts you have put in writing this website.
I am hoping to check out more posts by
you in the future as well. In truth, your writing has motivated me to get my very own site
now 😉
First off I would like to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was interested to find out how you center
yourself and clear your mind prior to writing. I’ve had a difficult time clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out there. I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints? Thank you!
Greetings world traveler, this seems so interesting, I would love to keep abreast of your adventures. Happy sightseeing, Namaste.Theresa
Thank you Theresa. If you click on ‘Follow Wovensouls’ at the top right hand corner of the page – updates will reach you. Next week I am travelling to tribal Orissa … new experiences, new personal discoveries & new stories to share! Stay in touch.

my Facebook group. Talk soon!
Howdy just came upon your website via Yahoo after I entered
in, ” WovenSouls” or perhaps something similar (can’t quite remember exactly). In any case, I’m relieved I
found it simply because your subject material is exactly what
I’m searching for (writing a college paper) and I hope you don’t mind if I collect some information
from here and I will of course credit you as the source.
Thank you so much.
Wonderful web site it is! Useful

Wow, wonderful blog layout!
The overall content is magnificent!!
With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright infringement?
My site has a lot of unique content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my authorization. Do you know any solutions to help reduce content from being stolen? I’d genuinely appreciate it.
Great to find some one who has written so well about Odisha, where my root lies!
Gday! I hope you don’t mind but I decided to submit your website: http://wovensouls.wordpress.com to my on-line directory website. I used, “WovenSouls | Culture, Art & Souls experienced through Conversations & Photography” as your website headline. I hope this is acceptable with you.
I really like what you are usually up too.
Keep up the awesome works guys.

🙂
Hi Jaina, do you travel only in Asia or go outside also?
Unless some other reason takes me outside Asia, I travel only within Asia. Once I “finish” doing the Asia circuit I will travel to other places too. Why?

Hello Jaina,
I am new to the blog scene, my daughter is your loyal follower and she introduced your blog to me. I am amazed and in love with your writing skill. Many years ago, i travelled some parts of Kutch learning about their wonderful textile art and folk art. I have always loved all different forms of folk art as i believe that it is closest to ones heart. I am a textile designer and an artist, so the subjects you write about are close to my heart, and your blog works like an eye opener to many. it bring hope to many, that the abundant wealth of customs and creativity will withstand the force of super excellerated progress.
Keep up the good work.
Doler
Thank you Doler for your note.
Am glad to hear that you are enjoying the blog! And it is wonderful to note that many others share the same feelings about the wealth of cultures.
Jaina
Your Kutch articles are enjoyable!
