Superbly executed extremely dense embroidery that at first-glance could be mistaken for applique or rope-work
Such fine work is no longer made.
Artworks of this quality were usually given as dowry.
Estimated to be from the 1970s
Each is about 2 feet x 2 feet in size
Note the minor variation in size and color between the two pieces – that is a charming evidence of the fact that these were made at home for self-use

This item has spent a lifetime being used for the purpose of its creation with the original artist/user. Signs of this life lived heartily may be present on the piece in the form of stains, thread loss, loose threads, holes, tears, color run and other imperfections.
