528 Old Sindh Odhana Abochani Shawl Silk Embroidery on Fine Base

Antique Sindh Abochani Phulkari Shawl.

Glossy silk embroidery on a fine base that appears to be silk (but I am not certain).

Densely embroidered field.

As the base is very fine, there are minor spots of distress most likely caused by a human tug that put pressure on the weave. Stains present.

The back has the markings on the textile that are used as guides to lay the embroidery stitches.

A fine piece overall.

Minor holes / repairs / stains / tears in a few places

Estimated to be pre-1900

133 x 200 cm
