466 Superb Old Kutch SHawl Textile – Rare Square format

Rare Square Abochani with embroidered corners

The base cloth is tie-dyed Cotton

Rare format as such veils are usually rectangular and the embroidery is usually along the spine

The tie dye has been done after cutting the cloth into the square format as suggested by the borders on all four sides.

The embroidery has a backing cloth attached in each of the 5 spots

47 x 51 inches

Age unknown but estimated to be 50-60 years old

This item has spent a lifetime being used for the purpose of its creation with the original artist/user. Signs of this life lived heartily may be present on the piece in the form of stains, thread loss, loose threads, holes, tears, color run and other imperfections.
