A Caucasian Dragon Zileh like no other

Once again serendipity strikes and brings a stunner into my life.

Dragon Zilehs / Sileh / Zili rugs form the South Caucasus are easy to find online.

But all the ones I’ve seen have two colors – usually blue & white. And a handful have yellow instead of white along with blue.

So this one stole my soul the instant I saw it but it took me a few more concentrated viewings to understand why it appealed to me so much.

1712 WOVENSOULS Antique Caucasian Zileh Sileh Flatweave rug MASTERPIECE

Can you see why?

The WOVENSOULS Zileh has dragons rendered in FOUR colors.

AND it is the only one that I have seen with a RED dragon.

Now granted that I am no expert – so this statement “the only one that I have seen” may not mean very much ….

So I’m hoping that someone will share other examples of this type for all of us to enjoy and remind me that I have a lot left to learn still!

Until then if you’d like to see more of this spectacular piece – here is the link

Happy Viewing!
