Wearing her mother’s Bridal Haalvan Phulkari

A “haalvan” phulkari is done on very fine cotton cloth that is similar to mul mul. This is the first time I held one in my hand!

All bridal textiles are precious but a mother’s bridal shawl is special!

Lovely isn’t it?

The heirloom remained with them but this book is a gift from the loving couple:

What a happy morning spent understanding the soul of Punjab.
