Ancient Cave Paintings in Sasphol

13th Century Sasphol Caves, Ladakh

Went up a mountain to see the magnificent Buddhist cave paintings. Worth every huff and puff. The big achievement was the small journey out of the cave and onto the mountain slope on rock-steps that were unequal in width, height, spacing…. This will go down in my journal as one of the scariest things I’ve done!

Views from the cave:

Seeing our black car all the way down there gave me palpitations! Cannot believe I climbed this high!

But then the ancient art made me forget my woes!
