The Way We Were – II

Photos of an exhibition of photos from negatives in the archives of Souza & Paul – the oldest photo studio in Goa, presented at the fabulous Serendipoty Arts Festival 2016.

Naturally, I’ve picked the ones that have a textile arts angle.

A little factoid is that therecwas significant influence of the Peranakan material culture of Goa. The sea trade route made it easy for memes to travel. So goan Christian women wore sarongs and short tunics too!
