Art of Africa – Kente Cloth – Available for Sale

A piece in a museum store priced at US$4000 (only) caught my eye. Such a high valuation piqued my interest and I began reading.

The palimpsest of Kente cloths is even complex as both color and motif contain meaning.

Some motifs woven in the strips of cloth that are joined together to create large Kente cloths that are used as body wraps.

A good piece to begin studying the art of the Asanti and Ewe people :

Considering that African civilisations are among the oldest in the world, the art has had so much time to evolve & is bound to be spectacular!

So one more exploration commences!
