Interesting Istanbul 1 – Artistic Locks

After hearing a story of my friend’s credit cards being stolen from the overhead compartment on a flight on one of the world’s best airlines, I have begun using locks extensively even on carry-on bags.

This incident only enhanced my already heightened requirement for securing my things.

When I am out in stores, I immediately notice the locks section. Combination Locks with more than 4 digits and Alphabets grace my suitcases!

And so on a stroll in Istanbul when I came across the lock maker and the gigantic locks, I was compelled to stop.

I was tempted to buy one of the large ones (for the main gate / door) – thinking that the art is unique and the size might scare off a potential thief.

But instead, the weight and the price (3000 dollars ! (maybe I misunderstood?)) scared me off.
