174 Yao Tunic Robe 1 – Hand Spun Cotton & Embroidery

Good Condition Yao Robe with superb embroidery.

The fine embroidery done on handmade and handdyed indigo cloth is from the vanishing culture of the Yao group.

This has been used by the creators of the art and has lived a hearty life with the original owners as evidenced by the faded indigo in sleeve folds.

Some fraying, minor color run and general signs of age and usage are present as can be seen in the photos.

Estimated to be from the 1940s – 1950s

Signs of this life lived heartily may be present on the piece in the form of stains, thread loss, loose threads, holes, tears, color run and other imperfections. Therefore the condition must be assumed to be “not” perfect. More photos of such imperfections will be provided on request.
