1694 Figurative Pashmina Shawl from Kashmir

Elegant Beige Shawl

Well done figurative borders all around depicting a ceremonial procession.

Elephants, musicians and people with elaborate clothing (and possibly a bride and groom) are a part of the procession.

The work is extremely dense  with small figures as can be seen from the images with the measure tape. The faces are no more than a centimeter each. And the clothes have been woven to depict elaborate patterns with 2 or more colors and a variety of motifs.

Contains Pashmina wool

This is a recent production that deserves to be collected for the amount of thought and craftsmanship that has gone into it.

102 cm x 210 cm
