1645 Antique Gendge Boteh Rug with Figures

Elaborately created with love, this Gendge has all the qualities of a superb rug.

The candy-striped borders present on each boteh are delightful – with 2 colors in alternate boxes of some of the botehs.

Further, the well developed florets on the stigma, the symbolism of the flowers within the boteh depicting the potency of life are all noteworthy.

The most enjoyable elements are the figures – the two men (yes men) and their animals. This feature is proof of the soul poured into this artwork by the weaver.
