164-B Vintage Mru Tribal Handwoven Beaded Women’s Loin Cloth – Myanmar Textile

Beautiful Indigo tightly woven woman’s tube skirt

Most likely from the Mru, Myanmar.

It is said that the weaving is so tight that even rain does not penetrate the fabric!

The most interesting feature of this textile is the beaded selvedge!

The tiny white glass beads have been woven into the textile at the extreme ends and form a beautiful selvedge at both ends of the textile.

The central YELLOW panel with supplementary red thread offers a striking contrast to the dark indigo.

This vintage textile was probably a trousseau textile and does not have major signs of wear & tear.

However, since it is old, chances of some flaws exist.
