Superb Old Chinese Ethnic Minority Textile with inscription embroidered in rich magenta

Meifu Li Ethnic group from Hainan,

Ceremonial women’s head cloths, silk embroidery on indigo-dyed cotton.

The end panels are covered in extremely fine silk embroidery in geometric patterns and Chinese characters.

The body is fine indigo cotton. Note the contrasting selvedge.
