1216 Rare Vintage Ceremonial Camel Cover with Embroidery – Sindh / Rajasthan

Hand-embroidered Cover placed under saddle when riding a Camel.

From Rajasthan / Sindh region

Note the two types of stitches and the mirrowork embroidery. Note also the

Applique Borders seen in gypsy Banjara work

Superb yellow cotton contrast frill.

Max width: 202 cm (79″), Width at centre: 132 cm (51″)

Length 176cm (69″)

Some repairs & soiling present.

Age unknown but estimated to be 50-60 years old

While camel covers can still be found, vintage ceremonial pieces with traditional embroidery are impossible to find!
