808 Antique Darshan Dwar Phulkari Bagh Textile – Wedding Scene

Rare  Darshan Dwar Phulkari.

Also showcases scenes from life in the place of origin.

We see human figures with raised hands that may be interpreted as goodbyes between the bride and her maternal family at the time of her Muklawa after the wedding.

We also see noserings & a variety of farm animals strewn about in the field between the dwar motifs.

Condition is generally good and no stark imperfections are noticeable. However, given the age of the textile artwork, some deficiencies must be expected in the form of thread loss, stains, repairs etc.

Estimated to be from the 1940s-50s

Punjab, Undivided India.
