Museum Walk: Mataram Museum, Indonesia

Just a quick post with photos from the Mataram museum in Lombok Indonesia (an island east of Bali).

Many of the folk art museums in Asia are terrific resources as a first glimpse of an aspect of culture that might escape us completely in our normal touristic journey: e..g the aspect of the use of the Keris in Indonesia. it is not an object that we see worn in daily life anymore. And so the museum becomes a starting point of many new stories to pursue.
