Notes on Culture & Antique Art, Ethnic Decor & Vintage Fashion | Wovensouls Art Gallery
An ambitious name that includes all of Asia.
I wonder if they knew what they were getting into when they started …
For Asia is the home of diversity and the culture changes every few kilometers. So to come up with a selection of say a thousand exhibits that represent “”Asia”” must have been frustrating. And conversely the process of rejecting a hundred thousand pieces that were also excellent choices, must have been soul-breaking.
Yet. Yet. Yet the museum has come up with a fabulous set of objects that even an Asian from Asia can take delight in the displays.
At this point it become important to note that Asia includes all countries from Japan to Turkey – which means India is also a part of Asia….. and I am also allowed to call myself Asian.
[Explanatory note for my little rant: My children who have studied in the illustrious schools and universities abroad have learnt and argued with me in their childhood that that Asian = Chinese / Korean / Japanese and does NOT include India etc…. makes me feel like all the fees we paid have been wasted….. I don’t know where kids get their confidence from to go around arguing about well established FACTS!!!! Am still scarred from their attempt to exclude me from the Asian community!!!!!!}
Back to our main topic..
