1698 White Embroidered Stole Shawl from Kashmir

White field shawl from Kashmir

Striking embroidery in shades of blue.

The field has scattered boteh. Note that the direction of the botehs in the field changes at the halfway point – so when the shawl is worn over the shoulders the boteh  are all seen upright.

Very attractive aesthetic

Wool

This is a recent production that deserves to be collected for the amount of thought and craftsmanship that has gone into it.

65 x 184 cm
