1262 Small Antique Ersari Beshir Khali w Ikat Design – Gallery-2

A simple example of an ikat pile weaving that is seen only on a small group of dowry weavings of Ersari Beshir nomads in Turkmenistan.

With a good exchange of materials and ideas with neighbors it is no wonder that the motif seen in this rug is also seen in Ikat weavings from neighboring Uzbekistan.

The unidirectional niche lead to a questions about its use – could it have been used as a prayer mat for a child?

This makes a perfect addition to the home as wall decor!

Beautiful kilim ends

LITERATURE; A comparable example may be seen on in ‘Carpets of the People of Central Asia’ by V. G. Moshkova.

37″ X 42″

Condition is not perfect – has some damage and wear.

Mounted and to be sold ready to hang.
