1257 Rare Antique Anatolian Yuncu Kilim with Pile Bands – Gallery-2

Absolutely stunning amazing Kilim from Balikeshir, Turkey

These kilim made by Anatolian Turkmens in western province Balikesir – Bergama area.

These long tassels create uneven surface and poisonous bug and insects would scare to walk on them. Turkmen women usually keep their children on such kilim while they are busy with their work in their yurts and dwellings.

There used to be 4 – 5″ long tassels in between pile bands that have been taken out and replaced with old wool woven flat.

This is probably mid – 19th cent. If not earlier.

79″ X 60″ –  153 cm X 201 cm

Unbelievably beautiful antique rug
